hell, with a built in battery, and in the future a wwan connection of some sort, they will keep working, sending their images of to a off site storage system even if some criminal should have the smarts to cut the power of the place.

the camera and the motion detector are probably the most powerful parts right now.

i wonder, can the camera be used to detect heat. and what about some kind of environmental sensor(s) in the future to detect things like smoke, room temperature and similar?

or maybe there is some way to integrate with existing home automation products?
